As part of the Swiss Contribution to the twelve states that have joined the European Union since May 2004, Switzerland has supported Poland with 489 million CHF. The overall goal of the Programme is to reduce economic and social disparities within the enlarged European Union.

On 14 June 2012, a total of 58 contracts (50 for individual projects and 8 for the so-called specific allocations) were signed, for the entire amount of support granted to Poland, that is CHF 464.57 million. The project's implementation phase will end in mid-2017.
